Lahore has beaten Zalmi for the first time since 2016 in 24th match of HBL PSL-V

Lahore has recorded a thrilling comeback. What a nail-biting match it was and what a crazy last over. Best match of the HBL PSL-V so far where Lahore snatch the victory from Zalmi’s Jaws. Lahore has beaten Zalmi for the first time since 2016 in  24th match of HBL PSL-V.

Match Summary

What a wonderful start for Lahore and a bad start for Peshawar Zalmi as they lost their early wickets in power play, 24 for 3 in power play. Shaheen shah took Banton wicket at the score of just one and Banton went over a duck.
Shaheen Shah and Patel’s Opening overs broke the bone of Zalmi. At the score of 10, Patel strikes and took Livingstone’s wicket and then again Haris Rauf took Kamran Akmal’s catch on Patel’s delivery.

Sohaib Malik and young under 19 world cup player Haider Ali got Peshawar back online with their 116 runs partnership and helped Peshawar to set the target of 187 in 20 overs.

Haider Ali scored a half-century in HBL PSL. He scored 69 off 43 balls, Malik and Haider left Peshawar in dominant position while in the initial stages they were 24 for 3.

Malik scored 62 off 43 and got caught bt Fakhar Zaman at the boundary on David Wiese’s delivery.

It was a batting pitch and Shaheen returned back with his death bowling in 17th over and bowled Gregory and Haider gone on Dilbar’s delivery.

Zalmi put the target of 187 onboard in 20 overs with the loss of seven wickets.

Lahore starts their innings brilliantly. Fakhar smashes back to back sixes in power play. Zalmi had the opportunity to send back zaman to pavilion but Carlos Braithwaite dropped his catch on Hassan Ali’s delivery, Fakhar was at 24 at that time.

Lahore lost their first wicket at the score of 50 when skipper Sohail Akhtar got run out. Then Fakhar and Chris Lynn played a great inning and helped Lahore to achieve the target of 187.

Fakhar scored his first 50 in this year’s HBL PSL. Chris Lynn also scored a half-century and right after completing his half-century got caught by Yasir shah. Lynn scored 59 off 31 balls.

Lynn and Fakhar Zaman’s 86 runs partnership strengthens Lahore Qalandars and helped them to achieve the big target of 187.

Fakhar followed Lynn and got caught. Back to back wickets in 15 and 17th overs changed things for Lahore their big hitter Ben Dunk got caught on the delivery of carol Braithwaite. Braithwaite took two wickets in an over.

It was a nail-biting match Qalandars needed 5 off 2 and David Wiese remembers the name? yes, David Wiese did it again for Qalandars like he did last year by hitting a six in last ball against Multan this time he did it for Qalandars against Peshawar Zalmi.

What a match it was surely a memorable night for Lahore Qalandar’s fans. It is the first time that Lahore won the fourth match in HBL PSL and jumped straight into third place

Player of the Match

Fakhar Zaman declared as player of the match for his blistering innings. He scored 63 off 46.

Lahore jumped into the third place in point table with eight-points and Zalmi is still in second place with nine points.
