Karachi knocked Islamabad out from HBL PSL-V and qualified for Semi finals

The most successful side of the HBL PSL and two times champion Islamabad United’s good time come to an end as Karachi knocked Islamabad out from HBL PSL-V and qualified for semi-finals.

Luke Ronchi, Munro, and Steyn were on rest in the 28th match of HBL PSL, and from Karachi, Alex Hales was not playing.

Match Summary

Karachi won the toss and invited Islamabad to bat first.

The absence of four key players severely hindered Islamabad United as there batsmen like Rizwan and Salt failed to put the similar pressure on bowlers.

At the score of 52 United two batsmen were sent back to the pavilion.

Rizwan caught on Umaid Asif’s delivery and scored 17 off 13 balls and Slat was also caught at the boundary on skipper Imad Waseem’s delivery.

Colin Ingram the man who should be there for United got run out and Shadab the skipper of United played very impressive innings in all previous encounters of HBL PSL-V but in this match, he only scored 12 off 14 balls.

Karachi’s bowler played a key role to restrict United to a low total and a low total means United needed early wickets to stay in the tournament.

Suddenly game the game changed at 90 Karachi kings lost Delport wicket.

Shadab Khan sent back Delport and Iftikhar and pressure was mounting Karachi now.

Karachi’s wickets trembled and from 90 to 106 they lost five wickets, seemed like the game was getting away from Karachi but Umaid Asif’s six and a four in last over bring back the match in their hands.

Karachi won the match by four wickets and knocked Islamabad United out of the tournament and qualified for the semi-finals
