It was PSL’s debut evening in Multan, the first-ever PSL match in Multan Cricket Stadium and the way Multan welcomed PSL was incredible it was a jammed packed match and the energy of the crowd shows that how we celebrate PSL and own our brand added to this the last international one day match was hosted by Multan in 2008 between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Match Summary
Multan Won the toss and picked to field first.
Peshawar Zalmi fell apart as they lost their openers earlier on just 35 runs. The master blaster Kamran Akmal scored a century in his last match against Quetta but did not perform against Multan, Sohail Tanvir sent him back to the pavilion in the 3rd over.
Shahid Afridi took a smart catch of Tom Banton then Muhammad Ilyas came for bowling and sent back two batsman Shoaib Malik and Liam Livingstone with the space of three balls.
Wickets kept falling so under-19 batsman Haider Ali’s aggressive 47 on 27 was wasted. Dawson scored 22 runs but Peshawar innings never got back to track.
Sohail Tanvir’s spell claimed the last 2 wickets and restricted Peshawar Zalmi to 123 with 9 balls to spare. Tanvir’s bowling figures were exceptional in this match as he took 4 wickets on just 13 runs.
Peshawar’s 123 is the lowest total of HBL PSL 2020.

Multan too had a tough start as their openers got out in the early overs. Peshawar was 41/4 at one stage and the same figures were off Multan as they were also 47/4 in seventh over.
Rossouw and Khushdil’s 77 runs partnerships got Multan back across the line and delighted the crowd at Multan Cricket Stadium with a win on home ground. Multan achieved the target of 123 in just 14.5 overs.
Peshawar struggled with the fielding as well as Rahat Ali and Livingstone dropped Rossouw twice later that turned costly for them and open doors for Rossouw and he was unbeaten on 49 off 42 balls and unfortunately was unable to complete his 50 by 1 run.

Player of the match
Sohail Tanvir declared as player of the match because of his exceptional bowling, taking 4 wickets for only 13 runs.
Multan sultan secured his position on top in the point table with 4 points along with defending champion Quetta Gladiator and former champion Islamabad United.
