The two-time champion Islamabad didn’t get off to a great start in HBL PSL 2020 and lost their opening match against the defending champion Quetta Gladiators but they registered their first victory of HBL PSL 2020 and defeated Multan Sultan by 8 wickets.

Match Summary
Vince and Shan Masood gave a good start to Multan but the skipper got caught at short fine leg by young Muhammad Musa on 41 runs.
Amad Butt opens the game for United in the 10 over by removing Moeen Ali on10 and dismissed Rossow on a duck and restrict the opposition. Multan sultan’s hopes were high as Afridi was still on crease and hits six but he just scored 11 off 7 balls.
Zeeshan Ashraf hits 50 off 29 balls and did revive Multan a bit and got caught at boundary by united skipper Shadab. Multan ended their innings with a score of 164/8 in 20 overs.
The New Zealand pair of openers Luke Ronchi the master class and Munro build a match-winning partnership of 92 runs off 59 balls and bring down the target of 164.

Munro was clean bowled by Afridi on 50 off 32. Ronchi scored 74 off 45 and got caught by James Vince when his team needed just 2 runs to win. He smashed two sixes and nine fours.
