‘Finding Nemo’ director dies

The entertainment industry has lost another gem, Robs Gibbs, ‘Toy Story 2’, and ‘Finding Nemo’ director dies at the age of 55.

He worked in the entertainment industry for twenty years. The reason for death is still not known.

We all grew up watching his animated movies like Finding Nemo and Toy Story and many more.

This is a huge loss for everyone who grew up watching his beautiful and inspirational films.

This person was a jack of all trades a storyboard artist, writer, director, and producer who contributed to many Pixar films.

Rob was born and raised in California and heavily inspired by the Looney Tunes and Popeye cartoons as a child.

He attended Palomar College and Cal Arts and did the animation for Fern Gully.

He said in an interview that he began to appreciate short films after attending a Spike and Mike’s Festival of Animation in La Jolla, California.

Working with Pixar

He started his journey with Pixar in February 1998 and served as a storyboard artist for an animated sequel on Toy Story 2.

He worked at Pixar for more than 20 years. His recent work credits include the upcoming Disney+ series Monsters At Work and animated movie Hump.

At the time of his death, he was co-directing and in preproduction on Hump a 3D desert animation film.

The movie was set to star Simon Pegg and Stranger Things’ star Gaten Matarazzo. Both are playing creatures who are rambling across the Arabian desert.

He’s leaving behind a legacy of contributions to movies like Onward and Toy Story 2 that are currently streaming on Disney+.

He had an impressive career at Disney and Pixar. A veteran story artist on classics like Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, or Inside Out.

He directed many of the Pixar shorts in the Cars franchise and entertaining his audience with his anecdotal stories from his many years in the industry.

Daniel Chong, creator for WE BARE BEARS of Cartoon Network tweeted about the death of friend Rob Gibbs.

Gibbs is survived by his wife and daughter Mary who voices Boo in several Monsters, Inc. projects.

Several people on social media grieved his death. Our thoughts and prayers are with Rob Gibbs’ loved ones at this time.
