The Journey of a Patient Recovered from COVID-19

Fawad Talpur patient of the coronavirus from Hyderabad shares his story of a fight against the coronavirus. Talpur is a 44-year-old man, father of 4 children’s and an agriculturist. He said that he feels symptoms of COVID-19 after coming from the United Kingdom in March. Talpur shares his long story of how he feels symptoms of coronavirus and how he started his fight against the virus.

Talpur said that no need to get scared if you have symptoms of COVID-19. Just go for a test.

Patient of the coronavirus shares that he didn’t feel ill after coming from the United Kingdom in 2 to 3 days. But soon afterward he feels little fever and then he considered his traveling history. Soon after his arrival to Pakistan, talpur also received a phone call from the deputy commissioner of Hyderabad. Deputy commissioner asked talpur to stay at self-quarantine for few days after considering his travel history. Later on, a call from health office district Hyderabad, also remind talpur the same thing. After 5th day talpur, the diabatic patient feels mild fever. The calls that he received, this fever and a travel history make a scarier situation for him. Then talpur calls his doctor friend, who advised him to not get scared, we will sort it down. The Doctor friend advised talpur to involve local health authorities who are dealing with this epidemic.

There talpur first examined by local health authorities, they prescribed Panadol to talpur as he was only feeling mild fever. They give their opinion on talpur’s mild fever that he may seem like not infected by the coronavirus. At that time talpur was not feeling any difficulty in breathing, but the idea about having infected by COVID-19 make him more scared. So, he decided to go for a test in a private hospital.

At the private hospital, he gets only the advice to go for a coronavirus test in Liaqat University Hospital (LUH). As in LUH, there is a proper Isolation ward for corona patients. After the announcement of lockdown in Sindh, talpur still goes for a test in LUH. In LUH he was taken in the isolation ward, a test of the coronavirus was conducted and now there is waiting for reports. The reports come positive.

Talpur chose himself to stay at a private hospital in Karachi for treatment. After a few days of being admitted in the hospital, talpur was feeling better now. The fever was not as same as before. After that improvements talpur asked to test again. At that time the report was again positive. That shows he still needs to remain in isolation with proper medical treatment. Afterward, he feels improvements in his health again. The test was conducted again. This time the reports tell that talpur is free from the coronavirus. After the negative reports, talpur was discharged from the hospital.

But it’s difficult to forget about the claws of the disease, the test was again conducted from the samples of talpur. This was the fourth time now and the reports were again positive. Now the frustration and scariness again come back. The doctor advised talpur to stay at home and remain in self-isolation. With the instructions of the doctor and medical advice, talpur is now feeling better. The sample is now taken for the test. So, at last, the reports come negative. Finally, life goes normal.

Talpur said the only medication given to him in the hospital was paracetamol. It was not easy but not as difficult too. He said don’t fear if you have any symptoms for COVID-19, go for a test. He said he is a lucky person as he didn’t have a dry cough and difficulty in breathing. He said the prayers of his family and loved ones were with him, that’s why he is alive and enjoying.
