Ehsaas Amdan Program

Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the Ehsaas Amdan Program with the hope that the vision of the PTI government to eradicate poverty from the root and to form an Islamic Welfare state on the pattern of Madina is accomplished.

At the launching ceremony in Layyah on 21st February, Friday PM Imran Khan said that justice and welfare are the prerequisites of any stable and secure country and that better times are ahead. PM Imran Khan also congratulated Dr. Sania Nishtar, his special assistant for the help to make this initiative a reality

Ehsaas Amdan Program

Ehsaas Amdan Program is another program being launched after the Ehsaas Kafalat Program under the umbrella of Ehsaas. The program aims at creating honorable livelihood opportunities for the underprivileged and downtrodden segments of society.

Ehsaas Amdan Program is a four-year program from 2020 to 2023. The program has a budget of Rs 15 billion and it will impact the lives of around 1.4 million people in the country

Under the program, small assets are being given to people below the poverty line. Assets include livestock, the body of qingqi rickshaw, agriculture inputs and small retail outlets and small enterprises.

The Ehsaas Amdan Program will benefit 60% of women and 30% of youth. Under this program, 200,000 assets will be distributed to deserving households. The scale of the program will be enhanced depending upon the results.

Women will be given one cow, one buffalo and three goats so they can run their households with their produce as a mother can lift up an entire house from poverty.

Interest-free loans to around 80,000 people will be given every month under the program by the government. 50,000 students from the downtrodden section of society will be awarded scholarships for undergraduate studies every year.

 

Beneficiaries Identification

Beneficiaries are identified through a community engagement process in the 375 Union councils and villages of 23 districts where this program has begun

Ehsaas Kafalat Program and Ehsaas Amdan Program are under the umbrella of Ehsaas. Under Ehsaas Kafalat Program monthly cash stipends of Rs 2000 will be given to the underprivileged seven million women from across the country. Ehsaas Kafalat Program commenced from January 31, 2020.

The beneficiaries of both Ehsaas Amdan and Ehsaas Kafalat Program are identified through a door to door survey using the poverty scorecard so that only the most deserving persons are identified for inclusion in the program.

 

Vocational Training

The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) is the agency leading the Ehsaas Amdan Program through the community procurement process established by PPAF.

The processes established by PPAF ensure transparency and accountability in the identification, selection and acquisition of all assets and vocational skills training.

The beneficiaries of the Ehsaas Amdan Program who require vocational training are offered certified technical training institutes so that they can attend courses. Beneficiaries are also trained on asset and

business planning to help the beneficiaries to turn the asset into economically productive businesses. 

 

Districts For Ehsaas Amdan Program

The program is starting in 23 poorest districts of the four provinces and in 375 rural Union Councils of Pakistan. The districts are selected on a study conducted by PPAF considering three parameters i.e. level of human development, level of poverty and level of food security.

Ehsaas Amdan Program has commenced in the following districts of four provinces in Pakistan.

The comprehensive Ehsaas Program Aims at poverty alleviation and social protection of the downtrodden and underprivileged segments of society. Ehsaas Amdan Program is providing a m for the youth and underprivileged to start their own small enterprises.

Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed hope for a brighter future of Pakistan and said that Pakistan has come out of difficult times with huge reductions in account deficits, boosting the stocks market and increasing foreign investments.
