Another senior doctor lost a battle against COVID-19 in Peshawar. According to the director of Hayatabad Medical complex Shehzad Faisal, a week ago Dr. Mohammad Javed had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and was on a ventilator ever since.
Dr. Javed was performing duties the ENT department director of HMC said.
“He had been fighting on the front lines to combat the coronavirus,”
“More than a dozen doctors in KPK have tested positive for the COVID-19,” the director said.
Dr. Mohammad Javed is the first doctor in the province to die of COVID-19 and third of the country.
KPK has recorded more than 1,708 cases of the coronavirus so far, with 89 deaths — the highest number of deaths in any province.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Mahmood Khan Said that he would nominate Dr. Javed for the civil award in recognition of his “splendid job and unmatched sacrifice”.
On his official Twitter account, CM said
“Dr. Javed remained in front line saving lives of our people against the disease.
He set very high standards of professional pride and integrity not only for his fellow medical community but for all of us.”

More than 50 health workers, including doctors and other health professionals, were infected with the coronavirus in KP.
Doctors and health professionals have repeatedly urged the government to impose stricter lockdown measures and to provide them with the proper safety gear in the battle against the coronavirus.

President of the provincial doctor’s association, Dr. Amir Taj Khan urges for a complete lockdown in the country to enable people to stay home and enforce social distancing.
Else the health system of the country would collapse and all health workers would end up infected with the deadly virus, leaving patients in the lurch.
Dr. Taj further said It would be most suitable to have the separate wards for infected and active patients as well as quarantine centers away from the hospital, not to just ensure their best supervision but to safeguard our health professional and people from being infected.
Doctors died of Coronavirus in Pakistan
Earlier a 26 years old Dr. Usama Riaz died while treating suspected coronavirus patients at the isolation center established in Gilgit for pilgrims returning from Iran.

A senior doctor from Sindh Dr. Abdul Qadir Soomro was the second doctor who died of COVID-19 in Karachi.
As a frontline Doctor, he helped Al-Khidmat Hospital to establish a special ward for COVID-19 patients.
He was diagnosed with deadly COVID-19 on the 2nd of April and shifted to a local hospital isolation ward.
Now Dr.Javed lost his life fighting on the front line to combat the deadly coronavirus.
Medical professionals have demanded personal protective equipment (PPE) and also complained about life risk while treating COVID-19 patients.
