FIA's list of 1210 most wanted terrorists contains Parvez Musharaf

FIA has issued a list of 1210 most wanted terrorists. The list includes names of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, MQM founder Altaf Hussain, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz and PML-N worker Nasir Butt.

The 198-page report was generated by the Federal Investigation Agency’s Anti-Terrorism Wing. The report said that 737 alleged terrorists are wanted by the law enforcement agencies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). One hundred (100) such people are wanted in Sindh; 122 in Punjab; 161 in Balochistan; 32 in Islamabad and 30 in Gilgit Baltistan.

The list contains information on suspects wanted in some of the most high-profile terrorist incidents to take place in the country, such as those accused of carrying out the attempt on the lives of former president Pervez Musharraf and his prime minister Shaukat Aziz. Others listed include suspects wanted in the assassination of late Punjab home minister Shuja Khanzada and the kidnapping of former premier Yousaf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Haider.

In what should put a rest of India’s constant finger-pointing at Pakistan, the 198-page document, interestingly,  also lists the names and profiles of those allegedly involved in carrying out the 2008 Mumbai attacks. In connection with the murder of senior MQM leader Imran Farooq, the list also includes the party’s founder Altaf Hussain as well as the former head of its diplomatic wing Muhammad Anwar.

Parvez Musharaf is a terrorist, really? I think FIA will have to bear a lot in the coming few months. The armed forces are not going to take it lightly. On the other end, it also strengthens the fact that our institutions are acting on their own. The government or the army has nothing to do with what our institutions are doing.

The other significant thing in the report was the pointing out of certain people in certain cases. We have seen that reports and facts as such were kept hidden from the general public. Not to be in the tenure of PM Imran Khan.
